Love for Her

Gold means nothing to me,

Silver’s all the same.

Her heart’s worth more than rubies

Her love puts diamonds to shame.

You may wave flowers under my nose,

You can show the finest art, but to me

There’s nothing quite so priceless

As my one love’s quality.

I don’t have much,

But between you and me,

I’ve never felt hunger or pain

her love fulfills all I need.

You can tear me away from her

You can tempt me with all you can find

You can make me blind and deaf

But you can’t change her love in my mind.

Age can steal my youth,

Death can steal my final breath

but once I’m gone,

My love for her will still be left.

I try really hard to not write angsty stuff, but that seems to be a theme for me. I love painting and guitar, but writing’s pretty fun too!
