The Love Hidden in the Sand

We built sandcastles that will never turn to dust

Our foundation always began with trust

It was never lust

You’re actions were the receipts to what your words meant

And even when I questioned if what we had was really love

You never treated me like I was foolish for my doubts

It’s not everyday you come across someone

Who understands you so deeply

And I mean soul deep

You walked into the door of my unruly brokenness

It took awhile for you to break my wall down

But it was too hard for me to resist letting your beautiful smile go

The definition of love is you and I

We never question if this love was worth it

I never make you high off jealousy

Our love is rooted on forgiveness

And planted on happiness

We’re a team that builds a strong garden with a steady foundation

The cobwebs of our past are cleared out

And I am your Queen and you are my King

There is no fairy tale that goes along with this happy ending

Times will get rough and feelings may get hurt

But the beauty of it all is that in the end there will be a parade of joy

And the memories we share will be imbedded in my heart forever
