Love, a High School Senior.

Uncertainty is

my enemy,

my mortal dream,

my inconspicuous nightmare, and

my one true love.

Though the clock still chimes every hour,

I cannot will myself to stand upright

and defeat my one true love.

Love should make me valiant,

eager, and desparate in all the right ways.

But this love only takes and

refuses to give, only leaving the taste of

iron stained on my tongue.
