Love Holds No Record
A bruise has marked our friendship
The plant has lost its seed
The sky seems to lose its color
My heart for you, it bleeds.
A green-eyed monster has escaped
And I’m no longer under your embrace
And to see that smile fade off your face
Is like the sun leaving for the night.
The rose petals, we left behind
And our grudges we kept them close,
We left the good and kept the wrong
For jealousy has done its job.
But to keep these records will lead us to disgrace
Therefore, let us leave the wrong, and forgive the past,
Because Forgiveness is not a force, but a choice
And to forgive, we’ll find a way.
For love holds no record,
And it does not perish in jealousy.
Issues will confront us, but we will be stronger than them,
Because love is strong and endures all.
An apology marks our faces,
Once again our fingers twined together.
Because I love you, I will be better,
And we shall continue to persist.
Oh little sister, with eyes like diamonds
With a smile that makes my heart beat faster,
I ask for us to never fight again
But to love each other until the end.
And to always leave the past untouched,
Never hugging the grudges close to our hearts,
For these break up our peaceful minds
And leave us locked up in the dark.
Forgiveness is the key
That opens that wretched lock,
And once we do we’ll see,
That love holds no record for you and me.
