The Love I Have
Because I love you.
Words with no meaning to me,
Words filled with emptiness and broken promises
Because I love you.
An abstract concept to me
He, who controlled me and made me feel useless
Him, the man who pressured me
Loosing my most important asset.
Who played with my heart
My feelings and my self worth
As if some kind of game
Love
It was a meaning of giving myself into him
A word filled with self loathing and mistakes.
Until I met you
You
Who brought the light into my life
Who fills me with hopes and dreams
My support beams for my passions
The man who gave a whole new meaning to the word love.
You
The reason I continue to feel butterflies every time you walk into a room
How my heart pitter patters when we close the empty space between us.
For the security I feel just being in your arms
Feelings I have never felt before
You
bring me joy and happiness.
My best friend, my shoulder to cry on.
The man who wipes away my tears and worries.
Your strong fingers working through my hair,
Calming my nerves.
The forehead kisses that flush my face to a crimson red
A strong, supportive hand clasped with mine.
The person who I can splurge on about my day
And you, listen intently to every word I say.
Soaking it all up.
Us
In our moments of anger, stupid anger,
We refuse to look at one another because we know
once we take that first glance,
we can’t help but smile.
A stupid, silly, passion filled smile.
Knowing that me and you,
Us,
Love one another no matter what.
Me and you,
Something that's inevitable.
Because I love you,
Now a whole new meaning
Words filled desire and purpose.
Filled with promises and hope.
A phrase with substance.
Love
No longer an abstract concept.
It's here, alive within me,
And I’m grasping onto this feeling,
This intense love.
Never letting it go
Never letting you go.
