Love Idealized
Love is kind, Love is blinding
Love can make you laugh, love can make you cry
Love can make you yell, love can make you sigh
But where does one draw the line between real love and what’s idealized
Pure love is real
Real love is pure
But when does one realize it’s okay to heal
And that true love can be their cure.
Sleepless nights
Losing your rights
Wanting to fight
because nothing seems right
Streaming tears
Reawakening fears
It’s time to hear the truth
Does he hit you or does he let you know he missed you?
Does he make sure you eat or is he out in the streets?
Does he neglect you or does he make others respect you?
Is his apology enough or is the relationship still rough?
Flashy jewelry, expensive bags
Sounds a lot better than walking around in rags
But once he gives you a piece of what he has
He acts like you weren’t your own person before the gags.
Happiness, protection
Sadness, aggression
Laughter and smiles
Tears of denial
After being denied
Late nights wondering why
Fat wet tears running down your eyes
You fantasize
About a house you can buy
And spend all your time
Then you look up and watch the birds fly
Imagining when you’ll find the right guy
You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped
All you can do is focus on yourself
you spend all your time focused on everything else
But who’s going to worry about your health?
