Love Is it
Iam dying to have you But I must resist you to live
So believe me when you when I broke your heart mine had already crushed and burned, I drown in the river of your tears, slowly gasping for air as every breath turns poison
May your tears wash away my body to sea
In the land of my ancestors and their ancestors
Before they were made slaves and shipped into a foreign land
Where their grand kids can't call their home
May it bring back the memories of home
And the African stories told by our grandfather's
Around the fire
Under the heaps of our villages
Which we cursed by the very stone
Our foundations comprised of
And the stones that once were gold
We're now turned into valleys
And beneath the dust
Beneath the stench
There's innocent blood
There's the cursed of the land
That brothers will stab each other in the back
And fathers that never taught their sons to love
Only the wrath of an angry hand ,have you ever heard the laugh of an angry bird
And no greater love does our mothers
Have when their wombs carry and birth
Their oppressors what angry love is this
Like the wheel that defied physics
Is it?
The bruises on her face and the black eyes
A sign that love never dies but it can kill
Would you blame her when all she's ever known was the choking, by his hands and blows that bear bruises and black eyes that turn into scars in the inside and heal not,
Would you blame him when all his father taught him that love is tough, like a drum that needs beating to produce sweet music
That love is like honey and if you love honey
You have to love the sting of the bee,
That if you love something you must be willing to lay down your life for, for even the same bee lays down it's life with its sting to protect the honey bed, and it's here in her death bed that she tells her children, that love is an action that produces a feeling,
Love does not care how much you know but how much you care
And true love is like taking oxygen and turning it into gold.
