Love Is Just A Word Until
Words are just words
No meaning
No purpose
Until you feel the words
Until you become the words
Love is just a word
Blinded by the assumption
Of happiness
Of dreams or hope
Love is a feeling
It’s a feeling you get when
You come home after a long day
And your mother made warm cookies for you
Or when you get a puppy
And they give you kisses every moment
Of everyday
Love isn’t control
Love isn’t decisions
Love isn’t easy
Putting words to a feeling
Putting a feeling into words
Love is hard
Love is difficult
Love is what you push through
Because I love you
I trust you
I understand the words you speak
I reason with the arguments we argue
Because I love you
I push through the hard times
I embrace the good
I provide the safety around us
This is hope
This is love
This is us
