Love is Kind

Love is Kind

You've been beaten.

You're on the worn path-

and they call you loved.

But Love is kind.

You are not something to be abused.

Yet you stayed there, confused

Because they "loved" you.

But Love is kind.

What is Love? you asked them.

But your call was into the silent darkness.

What is Love? You asked yourself.

Love is kind.

Blinded by this abusive life,

You couldn't see passed what you've known.

But that is not where your story ends.

Love is kind.

Love is honoring someone above yourself.

Love is putting their needs first.

Love is kind-

it is patient.

Love is not proud-

it will not boast, building itself up.

Love will not abandon you.

It will not hide its affections from you.

Love will not envy you.

It does not find favor with evil.

Love will always go on.

It will never cease flowing to you.

Love will never fail you.
