Love At Last Sight

I tried for her.

I tried to make life nice.

I gave her honey

And she spits out venom.

My flesh burns,

Smokey scent filling my nose,

And she laughs

While fateful tears well --

The blood in her eyes pour,

And gutters overflow.

I bathe in her poison

But she wants more.

I give her a rib

And she takes my stitches.

I give her my liver

For her to soak in Scotch.

And all I can do is watch.
