The Love That Lasted

Because I love you we talked about the serious issues

And we didn’t yell or scream or shout

Because I love you I told you the truth about my feelings

And how my day was stressful and awful

Because I love you I didn’t get jealous when you spent all night at your friend's house

Or when you didn’t answer your phone.

Because I love you I let you leave

When you didn’t know if this whole relationship would work out

And you needed time to figure everything out

Because I love you I let you go even when it hurt

And because you love me you came back

You left and took time for yourself

But you came back to me

And to our relationship

And now our love is stronger and unbreakable

Because I love you and you love me
