Love, Lets Go
Hey, its me.
There are few in this world who know me like you do
So I just wanted to share a few thoughts, and write this love letter to you
I can’t help but to laugh at terrible puns made between the two of us
I guess that's why I try keeping you at arm's length… I just find you so humerus
You get embarrassed by your clammy palms, but that doesn't make me want to hold your hand any lesser
Instead I gladly grasp it tighter, knowing pearls emerge out of pressure
Each time I publicly belt Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”offkey, section by section
You flawlessly join in, swallow your pride, and embrace my imperfections
Whether it’s me singing through the streets or you cutely babbling nonsense in your sleep,
We truly accept each other for who we are, making our bond so deep
Although morally we’re the same, I appreciate how we don’t always see eye to eye
Because constructively challenging each other’s thinking, enables us to broaden our mind
When we communicate, we demonstrate the beauty of language both spoken and unspoken
Because we can penetrate into the real issues, allowing both our ears and hearts to open
When days grow dark, and even in my homeland I feel as though i'm a foreigner
I know you can't always be by my side, but I'll always have you in my corner
We've spent long days and nights laying the stepping stones that pave the way towards our final destinations
And although our paths have ultimately diverged, it's clear our journey was bound by more than mere infatuations
You see, you're so sweet but even a spoonful of sugar can't make it easy to swallow this truth
We started as seeds but have outgrown each other, and so we had to uproot
I realize that last sunrise you rose next to another's tulips
Although I know separation is to enable growth, it's still hard to do this
Each passing day our memories fade, and our lives separate slowly
But if you ever find yourself, by yourself, remember I love you for you, and hopefully you'll be a little less lonely
Sometimes the hardest things are most necessary, important lessons are the most scary, and even the most noble of intentions can seem misconstrued
Just know that no matter what happens, the bitter truth is… it's all because I love you
