The Love Letter

Athena was without question the smartest in her class;

She topped the lists in her class with her perfect A's,

Presented her work with the right amount of pizzazz,

And always showed off by using an advanced word or phrase.

She was sure that there was nothing at which she wasn't the best,

And she was not shy about letting that be known.

That's why soon people arose who wanted to put that though to the test,

Trying to make her pay by reaping the negativity she had sown.

Challenge after challege, Athena succeeded without flaw.

Her enemies grew in number, until one day something changed.

One student suggested a challenge that tackled not the structured, but the raw.

Scheming amongst themnselves, they knew what had to be arranged.

Once day, Athena found a letter in her locker.

Quickly she read it, and quickly she reddened.

The contents inside were a total shocker!

Without knowing it, her composure was now threatened.

Athena had never received a love letter,

So she became flustered and confused.

Soon her enemies pounced and pointed out how they were better

At remaining calm and defused.

Athena quickly caught on, and realized what had just happened.

She gave in and accepted that nobody is truly the best at everything. The end.
