A love letter to myself
A love letter to myself
Sitting alone in the unappreciated silence
Staring towards the darkness
The screen to the side blaring its awful light
Fake rain and sad songs blaring through the speakers
Articifial joy and resonated sadness run bright
It won't break you back to happiness
The pounding of nothing will running through
The only one who would know is you
You try and break anyway
The small sharp clink of the metal trapezoid in silence
falling down with the body of what you once were
free from this addiction is a title you no longer hold
the crayon red melting and surrounding your arms and legs
everything holds on tight as lightheadedness fills in
a strip of tape wrapped around your arm being what holds you to life
Laying down for the night without cleaning up the mess you made
letting the melting flow upon your pillow as you hug it tight
Nothing will free you but yourself
Will you wake up the next morning?
Who will you be?
Will you see me?
Will you fall beside that tree?
Will you try the bridge to get free?
Please be here with me
Hold on
I can't see you go just yet
I don't know if I'll see you again
I want to see you again
Hold on
No one could appreciate you if you fall
No one could hear you if you can't call
No one could want you if you went awol
I want you to meet me at the town hall
I want you to be safe
Hold on
I need you to stay alive and be here next summer
I need you to stay alive and be here next month
I need you to stay alive and be here next week
I need you to stay alive and be here tomorrow
I need you to stay alive and be here today
I need you
You aren't worthless
You spin worlds and stories with such elegance
You spin patterns and lines with such beauty
You spin such energy and hope with such ease
You spin such knowledge and love with no appreciation
You keep my world spinning as no one else will
I know today is hard, I know every day is hard
But every day comes the ability to change
So pick up a pen and paper
Grab your nicest stationary and envelope
And write a love letter to yourself
