Love Looks Like

Love Looks Like

Love looks like a small smile across the room

Careful watering to watch these red roses bloom

Love looks like a hand clasped tightly around one finger

Bedtime stories and wild joyous laughter still linger

Love looks like a warm embrace

Stitches together a lost heart in a broken place

Love looks like a facial mask and dancing alone

Being free of judgement, despite imperfections known

Love looks like saying you’re sorry and meaning it

Needing redemption because without them you’d lose your grit

Love looks like fighting for what your heart desires

Going out on a limb, that’s what love requires

Love looks like adventure and mistakes

Hoping you have what it takes

Love looks like carrying burdens

United we stand, until this storm ends

The sky’s the limit when you feel whole

Love looks like a sanctuary for a tired soul

Only a lucky few have touched love

It is a unifying creature, be grateful for it’s shove

It’s generous, healing and kind

Forever seeing beauty in life, I wouldn’t mind

It is inevitable, it is most painfully anticipated

Uncommon places are where it’s located

However, within every fiber and every being, love has been woven

Love looks like little moments and small gestures, this has been proven

Life alteration is what is expected

Yet, love makes tweaks and flourishes unsuspected

You know what love looks like

Use it as a weapon against every turnpike

It is there to make life worth living

Protect it, spread it and defend it despite any misgivings

It is an electrifying generator

It sparks a strength we don’t see until much later

It is a fight, a victory, an ally all in one

It will always be there along with a rising sun

Love looks like millions of thank yous

For without it, the battle of life is one we’d lose.
