Love Loop

To My Love

Why do you look at me that way?

You say, “Because I love you.”

With the brightest eyes

Filled with admiration and fervor.

When I crave my favorite foods

You buy them, sometimes without asking

And when I ask why

You reply, “Because it make you happy.”

Sometimes we argue

Screaming and cursing with piteous rage

We stop and take a moment

Reminding ourselves, we’re not our parents

I understand, you get frustrated

With work and with school

When I see you next I’ll clear your thoughts

I’m glad you listen to me and don’t lose your cool

I’m happy we can talk

On our seemingly long walks

Making goals, plans and plots

For our lives to be better and interlocked

You ask me at times, “Why do you care so much?”

Inside I giggle

‘Cause it’s funny a little

My answer is, “Because I love you.”
