Love in Loss
I’d cry a thousand tears for you just to see you cry one in return. I’d set fire to the world, just to make sure you never burn. I’d traverse perilous mountains and climates just to know you care. If you ever wanted me, nothing would stop be from being there. Any time, any place, heaven, or earth, you just tell me where. I love your pain, I love your suffering, and don’t you know that you have my heart in chains. Inescapable, unexplainable, my tears for you outnumber the everlasting rain that will never change. Everywhere I look I see you pouring into my soul. You return my warmth for cold, my giving for coal, my desired yes, for a heart shattering no. Not now, not later, not ever you say. I’ll clothe myself in your suffering and through time I’ll wait. Forever is but a moment when I have you in my arms, and for that moment I’d suffer throughout the ages, throughout all of your pages, and I’d go through it again, and again, never giving up on what is ours. How is it that with all the ecstasy and happiness you bring, equal suffering follows? For a shred of that ecstasy I’d fight for you, yesterday, today, and all of tomorrow. I feel lost without you, a hole in my soul you have left. I’d pay any cost to have you again; life without you is no different than death. I’ll wish on a star that you weren’t so far, I’d wish on a candle that you were mine again to handle, I’d wish and wish until there is peace inside me, because since you left all I feel is constant war. In my darkest times you were my salvation, you dragged me from my darkest place. For your love I’ll wait, knowing and suffering that to be together again, will be our fate.
