Love made me Grow

A smile

Like a drop of rain

That splashes delicately

Against my eyelash

At 6 years old

When puddles were oceans

And rain was welcomed

A kiss

Like the first bite of a cookie

That left crumbs

Against my cheeks

At 8 years old

When cookies were gourmet

And I only stole cookies

A touch

Like a warm summer day

That wrapped around me like a blanket

Against my skin

At 10 years old

When outside was adventure

And pleasure was riding bikes down hills

3 words

Like catching fireflies

That sparkled late at night

Against the dark

At 2 years old

When fireflies were living stars

And words were magic
