Love With Me

My scintillating secrets

emanate from my skin.

I perspire in trepidation.

The beads cascade from my eyes,

Tension is the air I breath;

it intimidates my hope.

Hatred has disguised my father's eyes,

almost as if his whole being

is masked by a cloak of animosity.

I dreamed of acceptance,

only a suppliant,

to society's perverse principles.

Overwrought by abhorrence,

my parents command me to shadow my feelings,

to harbor them,

in the abyss of my own vitality.

I still cringe at their critical remarks.

The acrimony put into them

thrusts the knife deeper into my heartbreak.

They forced my hand,

scoffed at me like i was an abomination.

My feelings are distasteful and offensive.

Rejected and desolate I cowered in compliance.

I convinced myself they were right.

I was disillusioned by their falsehood until,

I found myself 'sinning' again.

I now understand

love is not a sin.

I am not evil,

I am gay.

I will never ask you for your forgiveness,

I will tell you:

If I could change, I wouldn't.

I guess one could say I am eighteen and confused, but there is one thing I know for sure: I am in love with a girl and I couldn't be happier. So judge me, but in the end it just makes me pity you and you're naïve hatred.
