Love to Me

The meaning of love is different for everyone

Although it is, and can be, lots of fun

To me, actions and behaviors are most important

I will tell you what I mean, and not be dormant

Love is being comfortable with one another

Burping, farting, and telling each other those “embarrassing” things you do

It’s being protective, like a sister, a mother, a father, a brother

It’s making sure the other isn’t feeling blue

Love is asking “how was your day”

“Be safe” “I’ll wait up” “Text me when your home”

It is not being upset when things don’t go your way

It’s walking and talking on a midnight roam

Love is all about compromise

And not going to sleep angry

Its showing them attention

Even if you are busy

Love is a part of life

The good, the bad, and may even cause strife

The effort, the hard work, the patience, the jealousy

It may seem difficult, but it is worth it, frankly

The right kind of love will hit you so hard, it’ll make a little dizzy

It’s the “I love you”s that will make you go crazy

When they ask “why are you so good to me”

You say, “Because I love you”

What does this mean exactly? You need to know

It’s supporting one another through everything, no matter what

It’s being loyal and making sure they’re safe as they go

But most of all, it’s showing that you’d do anything for them, that they mean a lot
