Love Me

Because you love me you demand my passion

Because I love you I carve my heart from my chest and serve it to you on a silver platter

Because you love me you demand I bleed

Because I love you I slit my veins so you may watch

Because you love me you demand I prove my loyalty

Because I love you I nurse your hurt ego with my broken bones

Because you love me you demand I feed your lust

Because I love you I satisfy your deprivations with my misery

Because you love me you demand I kneel at your feet

Because I love you I silently obey

Because you love me my pain is satisfying

Because I love you I weep so you may lick my tears

Because you love me you demand I be a good girl

Because I love you I am broken

Because you love me you demand I be yours

Because I love you I sit alone in the dark

Because you love me you whisper I am everything to you

Because I love you I tell myself everything will be okay, that this is love

Because you love me you whisper you can’t live without me

Because I love you I stay

Because you love me you hurt me

Because I love you I feel my life slipping away

Because you love me you whisper it’s for my own good

Because I love you I beg forgiveness

Because you love me you whisper I am worthless to everyone else

Because I love you I let you take my life

Because you love me you tell me your truth: nobody will ever love someone like me

Because I love you I hold on to this pain as if it were a life line

Because you don’t love me you break me

Because I love me I can’t stay

Because you don’t love me you hurt me

Because I love me I hold onto life

Because you don’t love me you are taking my breath from my lungs

Because I love me I must leave

Because you don’t love me you left me for dead

Because I love me I won’t come crawling back to you

Because you don’t love me you told me I was unlovable

Because I love me I realize my truth

Because you don’t love me I move on

Because I love me I become my own

Because you never loved me you broke my body and shattered my heart

Because I love me I live
