Love as a Mentor

Love

It comes from many places

Often we feel its absence more than its presence

Love

From my mom

I know she loves me

But always feeling second best

Love

from my brother

He’s not really around

Love

From my dad

Why don’t you talk to me

Love

From myself

Maybe I do, maybe I don’t

Love

From my husband

He’s there most of the time

Love

From my God

Heals me, Holds me

Molds me, Shapes me

Love

When I’m depressed

Saves me from myself

Love

For others

Makes me compassionate and caring

Love

For things

Keeps me motivated

Love

Felt and unfelt

Keeps me alive

Living and breathing

Love

For the future

Gives me hope for today

Love

Is my mentor
