Love of Mine

I’ve seen the bad,

I’ve seen the ugly.

before you, I was a nomad,

but you seem to love me.

every time I push you away,

you never budge.

and at the end of the day,

you’re not one to judge.

I’ve never met someone so willing to accept,

this mess of mine.

even when I’ve wept,

you’re there every time.

learning to forgive is difficult,

but you make everything easy.

you tell me everyday I’m atypical,

well I think you make me wheezy!

I was in an abusive relationship for 5 years. I didn't know how to have a real realtionship once I peeled myself away from him. It was really hard to find love again. I am terrified to be in another relationship like that again. But, someone came into my life that has pushed all of my walls down. He's been incredible in helping me trust again. This relationship is the exact opposite of abusive! There's no ultimatiums and he seems to actually care about me. This poem is for him. (:
