Love in a Modern World

Broadway and Twelfth, enchanted forest. Army surplus girl-poets wearing matching wool caps and snowy March- spotless and battered, beautiful and cheap as pulp paper. Esoteric covers memorized in high school, scornful of the Good Girl and Leading Man. Her oversized dark glasses said “Thank you,” as I kissed you.
