The Love of My Dreams

It was the dreaming that led me to believing in that myth

that they call love, so I've decided that i'll never sleep again.

I will keep my wits about me

Love is noting but a fallacy perpetuated by greeting card companies and the moive industry.

Honestly, to believe that I was made for one person,

and one person made for me

is nothing short of vain.

Who am I to deserve love?

What have I done but desire it? But long for it? But weep for the absence of it?

Life is no story book.

It comes with highs and lows

and while we'd like to believe that one day

we will find someone to accept us flaws and all,

I've come to the conclusion that I do not have the answers

I didn't create the problems

The crazy thoughts in my mind come and go.

Constantly leaving doors open and

tracking dirt on to the fabric of my sanity

They refuse to leave me

So I decided that we are leaving together.

Ohh yes, all the crazy thoughts,

of  how he loves me and loves not

I've gathered them up

and we shall spend the rest of my days alone together in our insaniy

It was  the dreaming that led me to believeing in that myth that they call love

and for my attempts, I fear I may never wake.
