Love my Fire

People, we humans, are funny things;
The thoughts we think, the songs we sing.
But beneath all the strange, the odd and the crazy,
We may just be sane (maybe, just maybe.).

We’ve built all the pyramids,
(Oh, the good things that we did!)
Tyranny revolutions spawned,
While new countries have dawned.

We've fought for our rights,
Haven't always won fights,
We've even searched for Atlantis,
But came back empty handed.

We watch for the scandals,
The villains, the vandals,
But while we wait for this,
It's the good things we miss.

We don't hear the sweet songs,
See rights that have fixed wrongs.
We don't see all the good times,
But complain about bad times.

So sit and watch the chaos,
While enemy lines are being crossed.
While human reach is expanding,
The Mars rovers are landing!

And as new history unfolds,
Don't you dare take the credit!
Because someone who cared made it happen,
They didn't sit back and let it.
