The Love of My Mother
My mother is more than simply a friend,
indeed we love each other to no end.
The blossoms of yesterday have already fallen,
And my phone indicates I missed your callin’.
Looking out at the window,
I feel sorrow.
I’ve been away for so long and I miss…
Her warm hugs charged with caring,
Tight, yet not overbearing.
Her wisdom, boundless and adept,
Always willing to talk philosophically and connect.
Her laughter that fills the room,
sweeping misery up and away like a broom.
Oh what can I say?
I adore my mother and that holds true,
Whether the sky is gray or blue.
Thank you mother for all that you do,
I really truly do love you.
