With Love to My Soul Sister
Dear Naomi
Driving speedboats on the Chesapeake,
Innumerable dinners in Silver Spring,
Our eighteen years of friendship have always been filled with laughs and joy.
You’ve always been the steady one.
You’re organized,
always on top of things,
rarely let anyone see you sweat.
But my favorite moments with you haven’t stemmed from your seemingly flawless behaviors, but from the times it looked like everything was about to come crashing down.
Whenever the world seems like to much and I break down in tears,
you’re the first person I think to call
You alone can’t fix my problems,
knowing you’re their always makes things just a little bit better.
Naomi, you will always be my sister and my best friend,
And it scares me so much that you won’t be by my side next year.
A source of calm in my life, especially when I was scared.
But I’m excited for you to go off into the world,
show everyone what a kick ass person you are.
Can’t wait to have so many more memories with you in years to come,
cheers to the rest of our lives!
Love Always,
Natalie
