Love is not

I used to believe love was what I saw in the movies

It was a man in shinning armor on a white horse

and he was the answer to all of my questions

he would be my savior

as I got older I though love was found in what others thought of you

If they did not like you where you really worth loving

could you really love without judgment

but now I've realized

love isn't in a man

or what others think of my body and clothes

It was the best of me

It was the best I could give to myself

It was the best I could give to my friends and family

Love is learning to love myself

and in return teaching others how to love themselves
