Love is Not a Breast
LOVE IS NOT A BREAST
©2007 Cheryl L. Harding
Love is not a breast
It is not a contest
Measured by A, B, C, or D
Love is what beats beneath
Though the surface is missing dogteeth
I am not less of me
Though less of me may be what you see
Love is patient
Love is kind
Love is my husband by my side
My children's dreams come true
And what I have to do
To beat
To defeat
To make obsolete
The battle raging underneath
To heal
To make whole
To leave the fishbowl
Reclaim my soul
Love is not a breast
