Love is not just a word

Love is a word thrown around.

Emotions can change just at a sound.

What does it even mean to say

those words we hear everyday?

People can say what you want to hear,

in order to become someone who you hold dear.

Cause a relationship is a tricky affair

and getting attached is taking a dare.

 It is worth the risk,

if the pain is brisk

and life goes on

as beautiful as the dawn

until you find the one

that is your own sun.

Who tells you to be yourself.

Who doesn't put you back on the shelf.

The one that you can trust

that is ready to adjust.

When they make you feel like a dove,

you know that it is love.
