To Love One's Self

Tiny waists and big hips

Long hair, luscious lips

Big butts and bigger breasts

These are the things society loves best

To love one’s self is rather hard

These beauty standards cut like shards

Who we are is often unseen

By the ones who love us over under and in between

It’s now time to change these ways

And delete where these standards lay

Fat skinny black or white

We need to love ourselves in the dark and light

To look in the mirror and like what you see

Is like waves flowing in the sea

To Love one’s self is truly important

Your body is the paint and you are the portrait

Others speak words of changing

But that person who you are needs to keep remaining

There is beauty in even the smallest flower

So stand tall and be proud just like a sunflower
