The Love of Peter Pan and Wendy

She was a girl who lived among lights

A world bleeding noise from the cracks in the night

Under the sheets with books for company

Tales of pirates, dragons, and witches begging her to accompany

He was a boy who flew in the stars

His home a world of magic and youth, without war

Waiting outside her window, a look in his eye

She was chained to the earth, and he, to the sky

He was a boy with a love spotted with pain

For she was imprisoned to age, to grow, bound with a chain

She was a girl destined to change,

While he would be stuck in the body of a boy, forever estranged

I fell in love with Wendy, a girl with ideas for wings

Forever a Being of cherished and forgotten things
