Love, Poison to the Soul

For a time now I have been asleep.

But recent events have awakened me.

Awakened me to the threat within.

The cauldron bubbling over with a deadley concoction.

A mixture of

Pain and Sorrow,

Love and Hate,

Joy and Depression,

Knowledge and Information.

The kind of potion that can kill with but a drop.

And I seem to have consumed gallons of it.

This kind of sorrow cannot be consoled,

and time itself can do nothing to help.

It can only add to the toxic dosage.

What is love but a poison to the soul?

A canker in the mind,

A burden on the heart,

And a mortal wound to the body.

Away with it then.

Away with love.

No more shall I abuse the substance.

No more rely on this drug.

For a time it brought happiness.

But it was death wrapped in quilts of deceptive bliss.

Blinding me to the reality

That in the end, it would be my end.

Love, the most fatal of all poisons, the most deadly of mistakes,

Has claimed another victim.
