Love is real

                                                                                                                           Noah Washington

Love is something we know and share

We know it when we are born naked and bare

It’s a feeling I get from my mother

And I choose to pass it on to my brother

It brings me warmth to my face

I feel it every time my dad bent down to go tie my shoelace

I felt it when I got my first kiss I knew that I was gonna go mad

But all I know now

Is that it would be rather sad

If I turned on my phone and things would go real bad

What if we just stopped caring

And were constantly obsessed with sharing

If we didn’t have the courage to say “HI”

I know that I would rather tell a lie

To speak with no courage

Behind a phone acting like we weren’t discouraged

We would be spreading no emotion

Just swiping left and right with motion

Not figuring out our fate

Going around and spreading hate

Guessing if we were going to get that date

In hopes of finding our perfect soul mate

Our relationships are what make us

Not meant to go and divide us

The feeling of longing and despair

Would never be solved while we on our phone over there

Never knowing the smell of their hair

I ask you if it was worth it

Being on your phone and stalking

Instead of getting the courage to hear them talking .
