Love at Sea

Love at Sea

As I was walking down the beach

I felt the hot sand on my feet

The land was tropical and the heat was hot

The sun ruined everything until it would rot

Under a tall, shady palm tree

There I lie, in false serenity

No one can find me, even if I try

A second dream, one to not die

With just my clothes I am stuck at sea

My dog has probably left to meet a flea

My girlfriend has probably found someone new

My possessions are left for all to view

It has been lonely without her for some time

Living in jail would be better, so commit a crime

For now, I’ll take comfort here

Slowly, my time will come near

I’m sure many people will remember me

I’m sure many people will not care to see

Leave me here for all to ignore

While days go by, my love appears at shore.

I’m sure many people will not care to see

Leave here bored for all to ignore

While days go by, my love appears at shore.
