Love Sense -Because I Love You
What it feels like to be loved,
Is it the way you hold my hand in the dark,
Or the way you kiss my cheeks
When I'm feeling down,
Or how your warmth engulfs me
Like a second skin.
What it smells like to be loved,
Is it a homecooked meal
After a long day of work,
Or your fragrant skin
After a shower,
Or your freshly washed hair.
What it looks like to be loved,
Is it the photo album
On our nightstand,
Or the silly videos
I save on my phone,
Or the sight of your chest rising and falling
as you sleep peacefully.
What it tastes like to be loved,
Is it sugary sweet
Like Christmas candy canes,
Or smooth and savory
like Mama's famous lasagna,
Or hot and spicy
Like red savina peppers.
What it sounds like to be loved,
Is it the way you laugh,
Or how you say "I love you"
Even when I don't love myself,
Or when you tell me I can do anything.
