Love Shouldn't Hurt
Roses are red, Violets are blue-
your face is blue, too.
your nose is pouring red rain-
is it because he loves you, too?
If he loved you-
he would smother you in light kisses,
not degrading words.
If he loved you-
he would say he loved you,
for comfort-
for warmth-
not in his evil manipulative ways.
Love is fair-
not when he is dragging you by your hair.
Healthy is not just a habit or a form-
healthy maintains relationships,
even broken ones
just like yours.
Love should be happy
and sappy.
It is holding hands through a haunted house-
that is not so haunted.
It is being hugged from behind-
while drinking hot cocoa.
Then-
kissing the lips that were once the love of the cocoa's.
Love is folding laundry together-
only to end up lost in the laundry together,
looking into one another's eyes.
Love is not what you have-
so be the change in that.
You have heard love is patient-
love is kind-
but not this time.
He killed love-
and comfort.
But, now it is too late-
and my darling, you could be next.
