Love is a Skill

What would I know about love?

As one who never lets anyone in

What would I know about love?

As one who only "loves" her kin

I know about love

Because of the people who surround me

I know about love

Because its easy to see

Love isn't always passionate or exciting

And that kiss isn't always going to be like lightning

What I know about love comes from what I see

My father loves my mother because he lets her be

He doesn't try to change her

Only offers her support

And when she makes a mistake

He doesn't respond with a snort

My parents love for each other has never wavered

And never will

Because even though I know nothing about love

I know they have the skill
