A love so Far
As the sun woulds't set over honder hill, touched of sun lit dew,
soon the moon would rise once more and be the beacon in the night.
A gentle breeze blows in the dark, reminding me of you,
the darkness has no place near me, for you are my shining light.
You did not trust the heart of man, it wasn't worthy as you said,
it is an abomination, pungent with lies and deceit.
Yet the day we met was fate, your layers of armour 'twas what you shed,
I wanted you to know me first, that I was different and would kneel at your feet.
I saw in you what no one did, a heart that writhed with pain,
a loneley girl who longed to be loved, but was never seen by man.
You looked at me with eyes so sweet, my outerlayers were slain,
and my mind began to sing and say, for you, I'll do all I can.
The days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, yet I did not say a word.
You must be better off with one, much different than I am.
The thought of you soon loving me was dowright ill, absurd,
I did not want to know the truth, surely I'd be dammed.
The time had come, when I was ready, to tell you how I felt,
but I now could not; I was to go somewhere far, and I'd not have you wait for me.
So I held my tongue and did not speak, for the news of love would make you melt,
and the way that I would leave so soon, I knew my love, you could not be.
The day had come that that I was through, living with a farce,
I could not speak into your ear, but I could write into your soul.
A letter I would fashion up to itertwine our hearts,
I sought no touch nor smell of you, your love alone was my goal.
Yet I had acted much to late, your heart closed up to me,
you put up walls you'd taken down so you would not get hurt.
You said I was a fool, a dunce, your love I could not see,
that you had given up on hope, for my love I did not reassert.
You said you would try to rekindle your love and what you once had felt,
yet I know the sorrowful truth is, the one I wish I did not know.
What you once felt, could not be more, for in your heart, I had not dwelt,
for I am man, and you a gentle dove, I have to let you go.
What matters is your happiness, with me or other man,
for the words I said when we first meant were true, I'd still be there.
Yet to this day I still feel hurt, that it was all a sham.
But I know I am the one to blame, for I was not aware.
A thousand miles distant, is where we find ourselves,
yet how is it you're far way, but feel so close to me?
I do not lack of love for you, I'm underneath your spell,
and by your side, loving you, is where I ought to be.
My word is I, and I am Just, loyal to the end,
I said I would be there, and love none other but you.
For every day, a letter I write and send,
hoping you beleive my word and love is true.
As time goes on and we both change, I'll still be loving you,
for even if you find somone, by your side I will remain.
My love is pure in all its ways, my patience, love will prove,
For I am yours and yours alone, andwe will meet again.
And on that day I see your face, a tear is what I'll shed,
and on my knees is where I'll be, so my head you may caress.
The hope you not letting go, 'tis reason of why I'm not dead,
and when we are together again, I will have happiness.
