The Love of the Songbird

If I could get it tattooed all over my skin , I would

Because it was a part of me that served a purpose

Whether the memory was bad or good

It will always be a piece of me so I crave that piece on me

It was the broken chain that made me feel so free

That smile that made me so strong but so weak

I could've been dying inside

But that little bit of piece helped me decide to survive

I wanted so badly to show this piece to the world

but was so worried the world would touch this pearl.

You changed this anxious girl into a spoken word

This caged bird into a songbird

Call me crazy but when I get bored

I pray for you to push through

Because what else is there to do

But...

look up to God and achoo..

Bless you.

Never want to see you suffer

so I just pray everyday that you're always covered

And God knows , one day I hope you discover..

Why I get so discolored when I hear your voice and I start to stutter.

I see nations in your eyes,

I hope you see more than just pupils in mine.

I may sound slightly asinine

But you're my englantine

so precious

even though you press this heart of mine like a sharp stem

It's 1:37am..

And the only thing i want is to be beside you

Because you are the only one who calms these late night thoughts

I call it mayhem.
