Love Story

We looked on as the house burned

It had finally happen

We self-destructed into an inferno

Faces emotionless watching our lives fade

Into ashes that covered

Where the living room used to be

So many questions left unanswered

The fire burned out as the firefighters worked

But we had burned out long before

We were left with only ourselves

Hoping that was enough
