Love Story

Your eyes, They send signals A warning sign that reads, Keep Away In bold red letters. This sign is displayed every so often When I have done something you deem wrong. Your lips, They shut me out From communication I so badly want to have with you. They stay tightly closed To keep from wasting a single breath on me. I can only imagine what words you have held your tongue from saying. Your chest, It expands and retracts deeply, The same steady rate of a lion waiting- Stalking his innocent prey. Your mind, Filled to the brim with negativity It is likely racing through questions like, “Is she worth the fight?” You make me wonder the same thing. Your back, It is turned now. Your feet Walk in the wrong direction, Your body Fades farther and farther away. It is clear to me now. You are not worth the fight.
