Love Story

It wasn’t love at first sight

I was too shy; you were too kind

We started talking and I could hardly think

Every morning we walked to class amid the dew

You would leave; my heart would sink

We’d meet at dinner to once more find

The friend who gives us light.

We share our time, joys, and sorrows

Our trust runs deep; we want each other

We’ve danced and walked, laughed and cried

We share our life and burn our time

And now I move your veil aside

To kiss my friend, my wife,

Because I love you.
