Love triumphs Hate
Hate hurts.
It hurts for the one who gives hate,
and it hurts for the one who recieves hate.
When I was younger, I once believed this,
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
Why did this belief become untrue?
Will hate continue to exist until the world ends?
I don't know.
The fact that hate is still rampant
In the schools, communities, cities and on the Internet
We become vulnerable.
Hate doesn't just exist in the form of words
It can also be done physically
With fists and kicks and guns and knives.
We're left with bruises and scars
We're left with bloodied and broken bodies
We're left with death and lost souls on this very Earth.
So two questions of the day:
Are you happy now?
Are we happy now?
The answers to both:
Probably not.
But what can we do?
It's simple but not that simple.
Perhaps love is the key.
We have our differences, so let's meet in the middle.
Let's respect one another and open our eyes
To greater possibilities.
We can rewrite our lives' stories
Filled with love, laughter, and happiness.
