Love Turned to Ruin

I thought you were my forever.
You know, that thing that never ends.
I didn't think I could be so wrong.

You left without an attempt to at least try and fix us.
You lied.
And during our time together you said you loved me.
Then after some time apart, your answer to "Do you still love me?
Is no longer the same.

That wasn't real love
Cause if it was you would still love me.
Now I'm here thinking about you like crazy.
Feelings still fresh and strong.
But you're out here with another girl.
Her make up is all on.
Her weave is all poppin'.
And she's rocking her body to the beat of the music.
Doing it so well.

I'm sorry I'm not her.
I'm sorry I'll never be her.
I'm sorry for not being there as much as you wanted me to be.
But I'm not sorry for being me.
I'm that strong girl that you know.
The girl who will soon be okay without you.
The girl who is funny and makes everyone laugh.
The girl who is independent and doesn't need anyone to make her happy.
The girl who is perfectly imperfect.
The girl you will never again have.
