Love, Uprooted

Location

Love is hysterical

Such is the hysteria that you do not even realize when it has made camp within your walls

Embedding itself within your soul

Until it is ripped from the place in which it was rooted

Death slowly coming in wake of its absence

The very soil that once nurtured its leaves and helped to bear its succulent fruit, left with no tenant

It had not even the decency of a goodbye

No warning was given in its departure

No seeds left to grow new love

Oh, fruitful place of existence now barren and derelict

Still uselessly watered in hopes of its return

Emptiness buried so deep that not even a trickle may hydrate what is left

All denied access to this marred, scarred sacred ground

Unless they are the remnants of the roots that once made camp within your walls
