Love - War

Love - War.

Love - War.

What’s the difference?

I don’t know anymore.

One takes your body,

The other your soul.

They both cost money,

They both take their toll.

I gave you my heart,

And you stomped it into the ground.

I’m sure you and your friends laughed,

When I wasn’t around.

They say true love conquers all --

Does that make it a dictator,

Or a democrat?

Just look at all the ruined lives before you go and answer that.

H.J Kelly

I am A 16 year old Australian who currently goes to school at toormina high school. I use poetry to both help with my mental health issues and raise awareness on mental health and child abuse. I'm in foster care because of my abusive father and because my mother is mentally ill so I strongly feel that it is important that we raise awareness on child abuse and the issues it causes for children's mental health.
