Love was('nt)

I thought love was;

Spending all night waiting, for a call that never came.

Writing letters apologizing for things I never did,

because it was always me to blame.

Tying to fix my every flaw and imperfection

In an attempt to rekindle the burnt out flame.

Giving every dollar I made to you,

because if not, you said our love would fall through

But thats what love wasn't.

Thats what love never will be.

Love wasn't;

Your cheating, deceiving, and manipulation

Your hurt, your lies, your lack of adoration.

The emotional starvation.

But at least now, I can understand what love is.

From what it isn't.
