Love Is Worth the Fight

You say that you don’t cry,

That your hope fled the day your heart died,

But I hear you at night

When you think no one’s nearby.

You believe your unloved,

Even though loves what you most crave.

Darling open your eyes,

Look past your facade.

You claim you fear nothing anymore,

That you’ve been through it all before,

Yet if that were so why do you guard your heart?

Why are you scared to love once more?

I know that you’ve been hurt,

Time and time again,

And love just don’t seem worth

The heartbreak in the end,

But hold on I promise...

Love is worth the fight,

Even if it means laying down this life.

There’s no place to run or hide,

In our ashes we’ve drawn the battle line.

Love is worth the pain,

When all the worlds to lose

And nothings left to gain,

When your lying broken,

Helpless in the rain.

I know you might not think you’re worth the time,

But I’m here

and if you know what I do ,

You’d know why;

I’ve seen a million stars rise and fall,

But dearest you outshine them all.

You are worth so much more

Than anything in this world.

Don’t be afraid of love

Even when it hurts the most.

Don’t give up

Because inside you know...

Love is worth the fight,

Even if it means laying down this life.

There’s no place to run or hide,

In our ashes we’ve drawn the battle line.

Love is worth the pain,

When all the worlds to lose

And nothings left to gain,

When your lying broken,

Helpless in the rain.

So take my hand and we’ll fight,

Hand in hand we’ll face the night.

And if it so be that you fall,

I’ll fall by your side.

Love is worth the fight.

I’ll love you even when the stars fall from the sky,

Broken by the weight of endless time.

I’ll be there when the sun breathes its last cry,

And the wind no longer caresses life.

When you’re silent silent tears rain down in the sea,

I’ll be there to wipe them off your cheek,

And hold your dying heart until

It begins once more to beat.

We’ll walk through eternity

Dancing among our sweetest dreams,

Child if you’ll have faith in me,

We’ll watch these fallen stars rise.

Love is worth the fight.
